Autism Awareness Course Comments
Below is recent feedback received from our course participants. Participants were asked what things will they do differently in their job as a result of the training: Looks at the structure and how to play the clients understanding and using the traffic light system be able to provide a better quality of life. I'll be using this and what I've learnt in my workplace it to show me why service uses do the things they do. Better understanding of autism and how I can give my all with better quality service and quality of life. I have learnt so much about things about autism I have left with a better understanding of autism and hopefully I can now support people better. I will look at the bigger picture and will try to understand why certain behaviours are happening. Pay attention on the external and internal senses that may often affect our service users on a daily basis which we tend to ignore. More aware of the triangle! TRIAD Think about behaviours and look at them with a different angle. Compentant and engaging delivery and knowledgeable tutor. Better understanding. Take knowledge to work. I will update training file, based on revised autism materials. To revise all I have learnt today.

Aim to improve for the next training. It has refreshed my knowledge and given me some ideas for changes I want to implement. Good understanding how to work with service users with autism.
How to communicate well. The training will offer me the opportunity to work with service users in a far more effective way. Gained an insight and knowledge Will improve a lot the way I look and support our clients. Given me more confidence in presenting the material. I havent trained for a couple of years. It has boosted my confidence. It all came back to me during the day. I also liked the changes to the course. Better knowledge on how to work with individuals who are Autistic. Understanding of behaviour and possible triggers and what to look out for to be able to provide a better quality of care. To provide relevant informative training to staff team to support their awareness of Autism. Supporting current training within organisation to add to good autism practice. This is a new workbook and has interesting facts to give staff. This will help with providing training for staff.
I would be interested in doing more advanced training This will enable me to give my staff teams the knowledge to support people with autism and it has given me the confidence to put it across to my staff. This course will enable me to undertake discussions with our Senior Managers to look at our Autism Strategy.
Lots of good ideas It will change my work practice in that I will pass on the skills I have learnt to other staff. The training has enhanced my knowledge around the impact myself and others may have on the people we support,it has given me tools to use when speaking. Utilise ideas for problem solving skills and use them with staff team and solve in house issues. To be able to put together a better working practice for working with young people. Make myself more aware when dealing with challenging behaviour and awareness of sensory stimuli- external senses. I have enhanced my knowledge on Autism. I will be able to confidently deliver training for my organisation. Raised my awareness and will be incorporating this into PCP training to ensure cross over. My learning today will change my staff support skills. It will ensure that staff behaviour will reduce peoples behaviours. This will be used in the induction for the organisation. Looking forward to cascading information to staff about autism. Gave me knowledge in a field I have no experiences, so therefor gives me the tool to do my job. Updated information- better fluidity of course.
New teaching tools provided to enhance understanding. I will be able to deliver the updated autism and this will enable learners to deliver high quality care and support to the service users. I love the new updates and look forward to putting them into my delivery of course.
The new updates have made the course a lot more understandable for me as a trainer which I hope will transfer to the staff I train. It will help me deliver sessions using the new updated lesson plan. I now have more knowledge on specific behaviours and how to manage them appropriately. It will improve all of my skills and understanding of Autism. To be more confident in delivering an Autism awareness training. More understanding in the condition and to be able to get the information to the people who need to understand Autistic spectrum condition and support individuals more effectively. Support the organisation to deliver autism awareness to all services who support people with autism. It will help me improve delivery when I train delegates in understanding Autism Spectrum Disorders. Help and train all staff in-house, support and assist in any issues or concerns and service users. Enjoy myself more. Enabling myself to develop the knowledge I have learnt to and teach it to my staff and others to increase a better support package to the individuals we support. Deliver the training to my team and others in the service, engaging them as much as possible. Will be able to give the staff an overview of the people we support with autism. Use supervision as an opportunity for 1:1 training/coaching. Tailor the training to the requirements of my service. Ensure people are learning even when not in the classroom. Autism will come up in lots of training delivered so this course can be used to answer questions generically. Ensure that I prep for training sessions. Condense my cue cards. Spend more time reading the support plans and diagnosis. Keep in mind triad of impairments and sensory stimuli. Deliver to others to enable them to have a greater understanding about the people we support. Be aware of everyone's individual needs more on every level. Help other members of staff with their understanding of Autism. I will be able to understand people with autism a lot more. Deliver Autism Awareness training as part of our corporate learning plan. Incorporate into communication training. Make sure I understand the key aspects around triad of impairments. Will present training more regularly and following recruitment (during induction). Get involved with creating strategies for specific service users.
Plus, identified areas on candidate assessment. I have more knowledge but will be able to relay information back to work colleagues. This will help immensely in my ability to meet business objectives in training our LD staff and ensuring staff are prepared for their role. Feel more confident carrying out training. Easy to follow. A good refresher, reminds me about a learners varying needs. Make sure that I unpick people's contributions fully. Facilitate training in autism awareness to the services in my organisation. It will equips me to deliver autism training more confidently. It will equip me to deliver autism training without the need to make the training complex.
It will enable me to look at some of my service users with fresh eyes, with regards to potential sensory issues of their behaviours. I will be able to deliver the course and increase staff members awareness on the problems/impairments related to autism. I will add this to my existing autism awareness training and combine the two. Be more confident teaching the staff more about Autism. Deliver training to improve knowledge and understanding of autism to those staff who are to support our tenants. Have additional information to support other staff in their handling of clients with autism. Be able to support other staff more effectively.
