Below is recent feedback received from our course participants. Participants were asked what things will they do differently in thier job as a result of the training:
The behaviour scales and SMART principles were amazing and I agree and will support them greatly. These will be implemented at work giving "Attend 100%" and we will track the changes in behaviours.
I enjoyed the layout of the course and the theoretical principles of the course. this theory will be passed on to our staff members to try and create a "greener" working environment.
The behaviour Scales (Red & Green) will serve as useful assessment tools and support plans for individuals
It gives me a better understanding of support, to stop a situation escalating and how to protect myself, the people I support and the other staff team.
To have confidence in situations that might arise.
- Need to develope more opportunities for the people we support.
- Will implement the Red and Green scales For ALL individuals.
- Need to develope better systems for the individual support for the people we support. Attend 100% and look at how we prevent the need for "waiting" and sharing support.
To put things I have learnt today into practice will only enhance things for the people we support, helping them to grow as individuals.
For myself its good for me to do things in my profession with more attention to detail.
As a a team of staff at Walton House we will all be working at the same goal on filling out diaries and supporting the people we support behaviours better. We will also be working in a safer environment.
I will be more in control of the situation if violence arises.
More understanding why people we support sometimes resort to violence and how escalate the situation.
I will be able to protect myself and others around me.
This was brilliant, I have gained knowledge in supporting individuals who display challenging behaviour, feel more confident to support and use proper wording in the completion of the daily diary notes.
I have learnt to protect myself. I have learnt to minimise danger and harm at the workplace and how to gain legal protection. I have gained a SMART way of supporting people we support to enhance lives while increasing the quality of life of others.
I have understanding of how to manage challenging behaviour.
I have also learnt how to protect myself and the people we support in a situation where someone is challenging without using force or restraining the individual.
The training has taught me not only the theoretical aspect of challenging behaviour but has also increased my confidence. Knowledge on how to protect myself without endangering the individual involved as well. The course has met my expectations.
I will be more aware of things around me and how to help other team members and how to protect myself.
I have really enjoyed learning about the Red and Green behaviour scales and how to look for trigger points.
The red behaviour scale be used to monitor behaviour and select the appropriate response to each individual service user. The green behaviour scale be used to focus of areas of improvement and I feel more confident that I have but I can work with service users who showed potential challenging behaviour. The training for me was to realise that behaviours have a second level message which means they are usually presented as a request for help or attention
