Below is recent feedback received from our course participants. Participants were asked what things will they do differently in thier job as a result of the training:
Be able to reinforce the training more effectively with the staff team now that they have a better understanding
I will be able to use the behaviour scale to assess what level someone is at and how I can prevent it escalating. I also have a clear understanding of smart and how to use this for supporting to ensure best practice and improve the way I support.
I feel the course was a good refresher for me. I had previously attended a NAPPI course 10+ years ago so was familiar with some of the principles and some of the techniques. It has been useful to attend this course however, I like the fact that the emphasis is on de-escalating situations before they become disruptive etc. Many thanks.
On a day-to-day basis very little, I shall continue with differentiation techniques to negate any situations that require intervention. If by chance any situation should arise I shall be more aware and more able to act appropriately.
I will be more aware of the staff team and how they interact with the clients. That care plans/risk assessments are up-to-date. To ensure recording and reporting is adhered to. To transfer knowledge to the staff team.
Interact more effectively with all staff. Make sure I include all learners and find out if any need special assistance or tools to complete the course. Make sure the course is made fun and enjoyable to all my staff group.
I will use flipchart paper to record information and learning more. It acted as a good visual refresher as to what we had covered. Learning a subject which is not the day-to-day subject to train, the flipchart notes were more useful to me than if the delivery was very PowerPoint based.
I will deliver this training as a separate course, and I think it made me understand MCA and BLLS. I have definitely improved my knowledge on the authorisation process. As a trainer I feel it was very good reflection of skills.
