Below is recent feedback received from our course participants. Participants were asked what things will they do differently in thier job as a result of the training:
It will change the way that I work and help me protect myself without hurting anybody.
It has given me a great deal more knowledge on how to see the service users I think how to work towards and carry out support for the better. I will be able to take my experiences to my workplace for the better I really enjoyed the course and how it was presented.
I have learnt a lot to update my knowledge and this can be taken back to my work colleagues. I have really enjoyed the course and heard ideas that made me think in a different way and I found it comfortable to Learn.
I have learned a lot of psychological techniques which I can apply at my work.
I have never used physical Interventions which I learned in my past training.
NAPPI is more about distraction techniques which work better in my workplace.
I have more confidence now to change some entrenched working practices in staff. The coaching process really opened my eyes to a way of working that enables and empowers staff to take responsibility for their own roles.
Coaching will help to alleviate some of the stresses around making decisions, particularly when you dont know the answer yourself by drawing the answer from the coachee themselves.
I will think twice now before telling a staff member what to do or by giving them the answers. I will try and empower them and give them control over their own role.
I will try to praise the people I line manage more often and try to build a partnership with them (power balance)
