Below is recent feedback received from our course participants. Participants were asked what things will they do differently in thier job as a result of the training:
Being more aware of potential dangers.
Recognise level of behaviour and ways of dealing with and reducing confrontation.
I will have further awareness in day to day situations and use certain techniques as discussed in training.
The PBS model was interesting and it makes people think deeper with regards to the customers we deal with.
I found the traffic light system really useful and will be able to use the Green Questioning in a lot of areas of my job.
The course overall will help me support my team when they have to deal with difficult situations.
Stop think, approach with a different mind set and only if all avenues exhausted RPI. Document stages and look at implementing RPI and release asap. Stages of RPI looking after patient, relatives staff and environment.
I am reminded of the techniques used in gauging resistance which is very useful, also the teaching on generating co-operation. I think this training is excellent for workplaces such as mental health, learning disabilities but not particularly relevant to an in-patient unit for palliative care. However the trainer was excellent - engaging and positive throughout.
It will change our working practice immensely. It will allow for us to have the best induction package that we have ever had. It will give a structure for our staff, understanding to a better level for all staff, higher quality of care, every aspect will be improved because the staff will be trained to a higher level and the trainer is more knowledgable. I will feel more confident that I can oversee employees to a higher standard and competencies will be more efficient and comprehensive.
