Below is recent feedback received from our course participants. Participants were asked what things will they do differently in thier job as a result of the training:
Very relevant to the daily work. Will implement this in daily routine.
Feel more confident in the way we can assist our service users who quite often resist personal care. The course is presented plainly so everyone can fully understand and practice should be easy enough to be put in place.
I had more understanding of residents resistance for personal care and be able to be more patient to have and give me more ideas on how to deal with challenging behaviour. Awareness more of safety of review service users and ourselves.
I will be able to help keep myself, staff and service users safe in some daily tasks that would usually result in someone getting hurt in some way. I will be able to approach situations in a less stressful way to ensure stress is not put on the service user.
Have a better understanding of working better with other staff and service users on safer movements for ease on everyone with the problem in their personal care and other requirements needed in assisting them.
It will make me more aware of the people that I work with and make them much safer. Be able to recognise stress factors and triggers and be more proactive in a way that stops the service users is getting agitated, disruptive and destructive in the first place.
Team will hopefully work in a consistent way following the guidelines the risk assessment and all the legislation.
It will give confidence to the team on how to manage or deal with challenging situations.
I have learnt very important information and techniques in what causes challenging behaviour and how to prevent also by understanding triggers of challenging behaviour this can help calm down a client who appeared agitated.
I have gained confidence in the self protection skills and also to be able to understand situations more affectively.
This conference will grow and learning about triggers and self harm has been really useful.
