I will be more aware of things around me and how to help other team members and how to protect myself.
I have really enjoyed learning about the Red and Green behaviour scales and how to look for trigger points.
The red behaviour scale be used to monitor behaviour and select the appropriate response to each individual service user. The green behaviour scale be used to focus of areas of improvement and I feel more confident that I have but I can work with service users who showed potential challenging behaviour. The training for me was to realise that behaviours have a second level message which means they are usually presented as a request for help or attention
All implements the red and green behaviour scales as soon as possible. also in relation to the training received by reviewing support plans, supervisions, personal profiles and guidelines.
This training will allow the staff to work in a more person centred approach
Training gave me more understanding what each change in behaviour communicates and responds techniques/strategies. I am aware of all the legal issues around restraint and when it should be used and how
Great behaviour scale as a base for working with people who are more challenging.
Of wider understanding and also early warning signs a service user may show if they become agitated and how to respond appropriately.
Developing partnerships I found to be a really good module and I believe will be of great benefit to teach in my workplace. It helps clarify and visually explains what I have witnessed so many times at work.
It will ensure I train as effectively as I can and am showing the staff group good practices that they can take away with them. Reminded me not to forget things and say the right wording instead of me putting my own words in.
I can pass on what I have learnt to other colleagues with easier explanations on different modules. Giving the best and getting the best from our service users. Also the learning I have undertaken will help me more in my job role as a trainer to deliver NAPPI to my participants getting better work practices from myself and my colleagues.
